L-arginine: A conditionally essential amino acid
L-arginine is a conditionally essential amino acid for human beings, which was first described in 1886. The name is derived from the Latin word argentum (silver) because L-arginine was first isolated as a silver-salt. Together with L-lysine and L-histidine, arginine belongs to the group of basic amino acids and can mainly be found in a bound form in food. In addition to walnuts, peanuts and pumpkin seeds, pine nuts are a particularly good food source of L-arginine, containing up to 5300 mg arginine per 100 g of nuts. A varied mixture of seeds, nuts and kernels can make a significant contribution to the daily arginine intake. Meat, milk and wholegrain products, however, contain lower concentrations of this conditionally essential amino acid. Biogena L-Arginine 600 mg contains arginine in its bioidentical L-form and is therefore an ideal source for its additional intake aside from our daily diet and the body’s own synthesis. The Kyowa Quality® seal of quality from the brand manufacturer Kyowa further guarantees a production of raw material in accordance with the highest quality and purity criteria.
